HOW TO MAKE SAMBHAR RECIPE || SIMPLE & EASY METHOD TO MAKE SAMBHAR AT HOME

INGREDIENTS:
- Tur dal - 1 cup
- Drumstick - as required
- Pumpkin - as required
- Onion - 1 chopped
- Tomato - 1 chopped
- Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Kashmiri lal mirch - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Sambhar masala - 1 tbsp
- Grounded Coconut paste - 1 tbsp
- Tamarind - 5 gms
- 5 gms (soaked in water)
- Jaggery - 1 inch
- Asafoetida - 1 pinch
- Mustard, Cumin, Fenugreek seeds - 1 tbsp
- Ginger Julienne - as required
- Curry leaves - 2-3 sprigs
- Whole dry red chilli - 2
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 2-3 tbsp
METHOD:
- Boil veggies by adding salt, turmeric powder.
- Boil dal by adding salt & turmeric powder.
- Boil them separately.
- Take a vessel. Add tur dal, veggies, red chilli powder, kashmiri lal mirch, turmeric powder & salt to taste.
- Add a half-cup of tomato & a half cup of onion. Add curry leaves. Add ginger julienne. Add little water & mix well.
- Add grounded coconut paste & mix well. Keep on low flame & simmer. After 10-15 mins add tamarind water.
- Add jaggery.
- Add Sambhar masala. Cover for another 5-6 mins.
- Heat oil in a cooking pot.
- Add tempering one by one.
- Add onion & saute.
- Add tomato & saute.
- Add sambhar, cover & simmer.
- Add green coriander, cover & simmer.
- Serve hot with Idli, Dosa, Medu Vada.
