HOW TO MAKE SAMBHAR RECIPE || SIMPLE & EASY METHOD TO MAKE SAMBHAR AT HOME

INGREDIENTS:
  1. Tur dal - 1 cup
  2. Drumstick - as required
  3. Pumpkin - as required
  4. Onion - 1 chopped
  5. Tomato - 1 chopped
  6. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  7. Kashmiri lal mirch - 1 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  9. Sambhar masala - 1 tbsp
  10. Grounded Coconut paste - 1 tbsp
  11. Tamarind - 5 gms
  12. 5 gms (soaked in water)
  13. Jaggery  - 1 inch
  14. Asafoetida - 1 pinch
  15. Mustard, Cumin, Fenugreek seeds - 1 tbsp
  16. Ginger Julienne - as required
  17. Curry leaves - 2-3 sprigs
  18. Whole dry red chilli - 2
  19. Salt - to taste
  20. Oil - 2-3 tbsp

METHOD:
  1. Boil veggies by adding salt, turmeric powder.
  2. Boil dal by adding salt & turmeric powder.
  3. Boil them separately.
  4. Take a vessel. Add tur dal, veggies, red chilli powder, kashmiri lal mirch, turmeric powder & salt to taste.
  5. Add a half-cup of tomato & a half cup of onion. Add curry leaves. Add ginger julienne. Add little water & mix well.
  6. Add grounded coconut paste & mix well. Keep on low flame & simmer. After 10-15 mins add tamarind water.
  7. Add jaggery.
  8. Add Sambhar masala. Cover for another 5-6 mins.
  9. Heat oil in a cooking pot.
  10. Add tempering one by one.
  11. Add onion & saute.
  12. Add tomato & saute.
  13. Add sambhar, cover & simmer.
  14. Add green coriander, cover & simmer.
  15. Serve hot with Idli, Dosa, Medu Vada.
