MALKA MASOOR DAL BIRYANI || HOW TO MAKE BROWN LENTIL BIRYANI || VEG BIRYANI RECIPE
- PREPARATION TIME: 15-20 Mins
- COOKING TIME: 30-35 Mins
- SERVINGS: 3-4
- Rice - 1 Kg (Soaked in water for 30 Mins)
- Brown Lentils - 250 gms
- Onion - 2 Big (Sliced)
- Tomato - 2 Big (Sliced)
- Potato - 5-6 (Fried in oil & cut into 2 equal halves)
- Curd - 1 cup
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
- Kashmiri lal mirch powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
- Garam Masala powder - 1/4 tsp
- Bay Leaf - 2
- Green Cardamom - 2
- Cinnamon Stick - 1
- Cloves - 2
- Cumin Seeds - 1 tbsp
- Green Coriander - Few
- Mint Leaves - Few
- Green Chilli - 2-3
- Lemon - 2-3
- Salt - to taste
- Ghee - 1 Spoon
- Oil - 2 Spoon
DRY SPICES FOR RICE:
- Cumin Seeds - 1 tbsp
- Cloves - 2
- Bay Leaf - 1
- Green Cardamom - 1
- Cinnamon Stick - 1
- Take a vessel. Add masoor dal, water & salt to taste, keep on high flame & cook.
- Once the skin separates from dal, turn off the flame.
- Take a vessel, add water, dry spices for rice, salt to taste & cook.
- Heat a pan. Add ghee & oil. Add dry spices & saute.
- Add onion & saute. Turn the flame to low. Take out some fried onion & save for later.
- Add ginger-garlic paste & saute.
- Add tomato & saute. Add salt to taste & mix well.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, kashmiri lal mirch powder, coriander powder, mix all the ingredients.
- Add curd & mix well.
- Add a little water & mix well. Cook for another 5-6 mins.
- Add green chilli, salt to taste & mix well.
- Add boiled masoor dal with its water & mix well.
- Add garam masala powder & mix well.
- Add green coriander & mint leaves. Cover & cook on low flame for 5 mins.
- Add lemon juice & mix well. Turn off the flame after 2 mins.
- Strain the rice & separate from water.
- Take a handi & layer the biryani as shown in the video.
- Cover & cook biryani for 10 mins on low flame.
- Serve hot with dahi kachumbar & papad or badi.
