- Chana Dal - 2 Cups (Soak for 30 mins)
- Onion - 1 Big (Finely chopped)
- Tomato - 1 Big (Finely chopped)
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Kashmiri lal mirch powder - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
- Kasoori meethi - 1 tbsp
- Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
- Green chilli - 1 (Slited)
- Green coriander - few
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Green cardamom - 1
- Cloves - 2
- Bay leaf - 1
- Whole dry red chilli - 2
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 2 Spoon
- Boil dal by adding turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp & salt to taste & mash it with a spoon.
- Heat oil in a karahi.
- Add spices & saute.
- Add onion & saute.
- Add tomato & saute.
- After 2 mins, add ginger garlic paste & saute.
- Add all masalas except for kasoori meethi & saute.
- Add kasoori meethi & mix well. Add a little water & mix well. Cover & cook on low flame for 5 mins.
- Add boiled dal & mix well, cover & cook on low flame.
- Add green coriander & mix well, cover & cook for another 5 mins on low flame.
- Serve hot with rice & roti.
