- Tur Dal - 200 gms
- Drumstick - 3-4
- Onion - 1/2 (Sliced)
- Tomatoes - 2 Big (Cut into cubes)
- Tamarind - Handful
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Green Chillies - 8-10
- Garlic Cloves - 4-5 (Crushed)
- Curry Leaves - 2-3 Springs
- Onion - 1/2 (Sliced)
- Cumin & Mustard Seeds- 1 tsp
- Fenugreek Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Dal masala - 1 tsp
- Salt - To Taste
- Oil - 1 Spoon
- Take a pressure cooker, add tur dal, onion, tomato, green chillies, tamarind, a litre of water, turmeric powder, stitch drumstick together & put it into the dal. Put the lid, bring cooker on full pressure on high flame & cook till 2-3 whistles.
- After 2-3 whistles, let the cooker cool down at room temperature.
- Take a vessel, take out drumstick, remove thread & dal water.
- Mix dal with the other ingredients with the back of the ladle or a hand masher. Add salt, 1/2 a litre of water, drumstick. Keep the cooker on high flame, let it boil.
- Heat a handi, add oil, crushed garlic cloves & saute.
- Add Cumin & mustard seeds & saute.
- Add onion & saute.
- Add fenugreek seeds powder & saute.
- Add curry leaves & saute.
- Add dal masala & saute.
- Add dal & saute. Put the lid, add a little water & mix well. Put the lid & cook for another 1-2 mins. Turn off the flame.
- Serve hot with rice after a min.
