INGREDIENTS:
  1. Tur Dal - 200 gms
  2. Drumstick - 3-4
  3. Onion - 1/2 (Sliced)
  4. Tomatoes - 2 Big (Cut into cubes)
  5. Tamarind - Handful
  6. Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  7. Green Chillies - 8-10
  8. Garlic Cloves - 4-5 (Crushed)
  9. Curry Leaves - 2-3 Springs
  10. Onion - 1/2 (Sliced)
  11. Cumin & Mustard Seeds- 1 tsp
  12. Fenugreek Seeds Powder - 1/2 tsp
  13. Dal masala - 1 tsp
  14. Salt - To Taste
  15. Oil - 1 Spoon
METHOD:
  1. Take a pressure cooker, add tur dal, onion, tomato, green chillies, tamarind, a litre of water, turmeric powder, stitch drumstick together & put it into the dal. Put the lid, bring cooker on full pressure on high flame & cook till 2-3 whistles.
  2. After 2-3 whistles, let the cooker cool down at room temperature.
  3. Take a vessel, take out drumstick, remove thread & dal water.
  4. Mix dal with the other ingredients with the back of the ladle or a hand masher. Add salt, 1/2 a litre of water, drumstick. Keep the cooker on high flame, let it boil.
  5. Heat a handi, add oil, crushed garlic cloves & saute.
  6. Add Cumin & mustard seeds & saute.
  7. Add onion & saute.
  8. Add fenugreek seeds powder & saute.
  9. Add curry leaves & saute.
  10. Add dal masala & saute.
  11. Add dal & saute. Put the lid, add a little water & mix well. Put the lid & cook for another 1-2 mins. Turn off the flame.
  12. Serve hot with rice after a min.
