- Masoor Dal - 1 Cup
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Green Chillies - 4-5 (Finely Chopped)
- Green Coriander - 1/4 Cup
- Salt - To Taste
- Cumin & Mustard Seeds - 1 tbsp
- Curry Leaves - Few
- Cumin Seeds Powder - 1 tsp
- Garlic Cloves - 5-6 (Finely Chopped)
- Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
METHOD:
- Take a vessel, add dal & water. Add turmeric powder & mix well. Soak in water for 6-7 mins. Keep it on flame & boil it. After 5-6 mins, place a channiwali plate & simmer.
- Once the water dries, turn off the flame. Let it cool down at room temperature.
- Mix dal when lukewarm with the back of a ladle. Add 1/2 a litre of water or 2 glasses of water & mix well.
- On high flame, add salt, green chillies, green coriander & mix well. Simmer on low flame.
- After 5 mins, keep dal aside.
- Heat ghee in a tempering spoon, add all the tempering ingredients & saute.
- Put the vessel again on flame, add the tempering & saute.
- Place a lid & simmer for 2-3 mins.
- Serve after 5 mins.
- Serve hot.
